The article presents an overview of two books on war, "Good-bye to All That," by Robert Graves, "All Our Yesterdays," by H.M. Tomlinson. The interesting thing about Graves's autobiography is not that he tells the truth about the war but that it took him so long to discover it. Mr. Tomlinson's book is a much more ambitious piece of work, maturer, deeper-toned. It is not a personal confession disguised as a novel, but a serious attempt to penetrate back of the causes, not merely of this war, but of all modern strife.
