The article focuses on committees on publication and loyal members of the Christian Science Church. These committees are constantly on the alert to secure insertion in local newspapers of notices and reports of Christian Science lectures and other news, valuable to the church and to see that there is promptly published a "correction" of any unfavorable publicity of whatever character. This result is accomplished by methods that often go far beyond the simple friendly request that constitutes a natural and proper first step. Christian Scientists are commonly well-to-do persons with good business connections. These committees therefore can and do, if necessary, bring valuable personal influence and advertising pressure to bear on newspapers with surprisingly effective results.
