The towers of St. Nip and St. Tuck rear their shining domes toward heaven, and downstairs a small army of New York's Best proclaims the fact that the cohorts of Mother, Home, and Heaven are about to save the Republic for the ninety-thousand-eight-hundred-and-seventy-fifth time since it was founded by a group of radicals, half of them foreign-born, who in their desire to upset the existing form of government by violence had not hesitated to accept the military assistance and the pecuniary support of at least four different foreign nations.
