The lobby committee performed a sufficiently good job on Muscle Shoals to insure U.S. Senate adoption of the Norris bill for government operation of that great plant, but there are excellent reasons for believing that further inquiries would be amply rewarded. Information tending to answer some of those questions has been reported to members of the committee, but the answers have not been made public. The fact is that the members have grown weary under the torrent of hostile criticism directed at them by ill-informed or partisan editorial writers and by ignorant business men and have lost the zest which characterized the committee's earlier proceedings.
