This article presents information on the book "Why Recognize Russia?," by Louis Fischer. The real value of the book lies not in its summary of Soviet-American diplomacy nor in its treatment of the legal aspects of recognition, upon which others have written more fully and more illuminatingly, but in its admirable compilation of the lunacies of the anti-Bolshevik wowsers from Matthew Woll to Ralph Easley and Hamilton Fish. It is opined that Fischer's style of writing is that of newspaper style and his history is a bit feeble. Fischer's knowledge about international law is also quite questionable.
