"Idiot's Delight," a Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. production, and "One-Third of a Nation" from the Paramount Pictures Corp., the two latest motion pictures of importance, have certain common features which seem to indicate that in some quarters the movie industry is entering a new phase. Robert E. Sherwood, author of the stage play "Idiot's Delight," has prefixed a long sequence showing the first meeting of Irene, the ever-pretending lady, played by Norma Shearer, and Harry, the small-time vaudeville performer, played by Clark Gable, on a stage in Omaha, Nebraska. "One-Third of a Nation" uses the name and some of the material of the Federal Theater Project's "Living Newspaper," which presented so vividly the history of housing. Leif Erikson and Sylvia Sydney have been roped in the main cast.
