In this article the author presents is views on communism. According to the author some sort of cooperative commonwealth is a desirable goal of society, and he see only the slimmest chance of any such end being attained by democracy. Any evolutionary development toward the almost perfect state is a long shot. The author remarks that "my Communist friends assure me that they do not favor a proletarian purge for any sadistic reasons." It is simply true that certain persons could never be induced to play along with the new order.
