The article presents information related to social and political issues of the world. It praises the leadership qualities of U.S. Senator George Norris from Nebraska and discusses the need for political leadership. The author states that politics is to be lifted out of the present morass only as people are brought to see that there are real issues on which it is possible to accomplish something by political action. The spectacle of politicians and representatives of farmers' organizations are hurrying to Washington to beg U.S. President Herbert Hoover to do something about the drought may at first sight appear a bit amusing. So much has been said about the drought and such dire predictions have been made of its disastrous consequences that it is not easy for either immediate sufferers or people at a distance to see the situation clearly and as a whole.
