The article presents information related to social and political issues of the world. It states that there are still no signs that the U.S. is reaching the end of the current business depression. The only advance in commodity prices has been in cotton, corn, wheat and other products affected by the recent drought, but a price advance as the result of a crop disaster, though it may relatively benefit individual farmers, can never be welcomed by the country as a whole. An important step toward freer trade in Europe is the new agricultural exchange agreement between Yugoslavia and Romania under which frontier barriers and hindrances are to be reduced to a minimum and food exports of both countries are to be apportioned so that excess crops may be taken care of as quickly and efficiently as possible.
