The focuses on the motion picture "Once in a Lifetime," produced by Sam Harris. The authors introduced the Hollywood at just that momentous time when the dirges were sounding for the silent pictures, and all the established stars, directors, authors, and what-not had to turn on a dime. They take audience there in the persons of three not very distinguished vaudeville players who see in this upheaval the opportunity that comes just-thus the tide. It is part of the joyous scheme of "Once in a Lifetime" that the hero should buy two thousand airplanes, and that they should swarm down on the horrified magnate in squads of fifty, but that scheme only works because magnates do buy twenty airplanes when two would do as well.
