The article presents news related to political issues in the U.S. President Herbert Hoover took a vigorous and determined stand in the first speech of his "swing around the circle" against any and all who would have him deviate in slightest degree from his stubborn opposition to unemployment insurance, any form of dole, and any other changes in the social order. Andrew Mellon who owns Aluminum Company of America, which has a monopoly, as any company in the country, has just decided that it will be one of the six hundred American companies that have established branches in Canada in order to avoid the consequences of the Canadian tariff law.
