The article presents information on political and social issues around the world. The Viceroy's speech before the Indian Legislative Assembly has added very little to the prospect of early peace in India. To be sure, he said that the coming Round Table Conference would not be bound by the Simon recommendations and that dominion status was the final goal in India. A boost in freight rates, which is known as official-classification territory together with an increase in rates in Western trunk-line territory, is the contribution of the Interstate Commerce Commission to the business revival which the U.S. Administration insists has already begun.
