The article discusses several books. Titles and authors of some of those books are "Seed," by Charles G. Norris, "Shepherds in Sackcloth," by Sheila Kaye-Smith, "Strangers May Kiss," by Ursula Parrott, "Peace," by Arne Garborg and translated from the Norwegian by Phillips Dean Carleton. The book titled "Seed" is Norris's latest work. It is more a disquisition than a novel, a patently didactic discussion of that time-worn question, whether or not birth-control is a frustration of God's design in nature. In this drama of misfortune is a young novelist and his wife whose marriage is temporarily wrecked owing to misunderstandings and poverty arising from unwelcome children.
