The article presents information on the chain stores. In the face of business depression, fifty of the largest chain retail organizations reported 4 percent increase in sales for the first six months of 1930 over the corresponding months of 1929. Average consumer is much afraid of the rapid growth of the chain stores and trend toward monopoly. One witnesses the chain stores manager and his helpers working all hours of he night for a small reward.
