The article focuses on the political and social conditions in the world during 1935. Threatened with the loss of federal expenditure in Louisiana, Senator Huey Long told a crowded Senate that the U.S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's new tea party could work both ways and Louisiana might refuse to pay federal taxes. The Administration is in a predicament in its attempt to outlaw the Kingfish. A hitch has developed in the negotiation of the Franco-Soviet pact at a time when agreement is most imperative illustrates the difficulties that are bound to occur in maintaining a common front against the Reich, Germany.
