Who Are the Real Anarchists?

Villard, Oswald Garrison | September 25, 1937 issue

In this article, the author discusses anarchism in the world in 1937. In the author's opinion, it is the government of German dictator Adolf Hitler which is the greatest danger to liberty and to the world, with the German people unable to free themselves from it if they would. So in Italy, so in Japan, so in the Soviet Union with its wholesale liquidating of suspects, innocent and guilty. These governments and many others order their pawns to slaughter other pawns with a ruthlessness and bloodiness that would make the anarchists of the czars' time seem as gentle as cooing doves.
