Among the corporations in which the house of J. P. Morgan & co. holds directorships, as disclosed by the U.S. Senate investigating committee, was one whose presence on the list caused some surprise in the newspaper world. This was the Crowell Publishing Co., a corporation that owns and publishes Collier's Weekly, with a circulation of 2,500,000, going to the man in the street; the American Magazine, going to some 2,500,000 ambitious youths hungering for success. One is privileged to draw any inferences from this one wishes. Apparently the Crowell Publishing Co. does not need financier Thomas W. Lamont's financial aid.
