This article presents several books related to different issues. "Rehearsal in Ovidio," by Joseph Peyré and "The Share-Cropper," by Charlie May Simon. The author says that when Peyr&eacute received the Goncourt Prize in 1935 for his novel "Glittering Death," the French public found its Ernest Hemingway. Peyré deals in violent action and depicts a distinctly masculine world. "Rehearsal in Oviedo" which, by the way, is a far better title than the original "Homme de choc" relates a miner's experiences during the bloody Asturian revolt of October, 1934, and the unsuccessful attempt to take Oviedo.
