The article discusses the book "Literature and Society," by Albert Guérard. Although this work deals with the most widely discussed problem in current literary criticism, it is unlikely to attract a large number of readers. The title is too soberly descriptive, and its author has not had the wisdom to conceal that he is a member of the academic profession.
