This article focuses on the economic prosperity of Sweden. Sweden has undeniable claims to be considered the most prosperous country in the world. Unemployment is not a problem. The index of production compiled by the Federation of Swedish Industries achieved a record level of 123 in the last quarter of 1937. It may of course be only a coincidence that Sweden not merely is the prosperous country in the world but has a greater proportion of its economy subjective to collective ownership and control than any other. The various public enterprises are managed on business lines by a number of separate administrations.
