California judge awarded twenty thousand dollars for damages to a husband who claimed his wife left him because of an advertisement for razor blades. The advertisement depicted a sad young woman with a suitcase, and the accompanying caption explained that her husband's carelessness about shaving -- and his refusal to use X razor blades had been the last straw. In many ways, this award is considered to be poetic justice. When an irresponsible manufacturer encourages foolish women in their incomprehensible objections to a small amount of inoffensive beard, it is only right and just that he should pay for it.
