The article focuses on the book "Religion in Various Cultures," by Horace L. Friess and Herbert W. Schneider. The authors of this book have made every effort to promote a more direct and varied acquaintance with religion as a factor in the life and organization of particular cultures, and the result has been most interesting and most successful. Their treatment is completely unbiased and thorough, and very compact. Moreover, their book differs from previous works on the same subject, not only because of its superiority in the organization of the material, but also on account of its clear and vivid exposition of the relation between religion, society, philosophy, and art.
