Theatrical entrepreneurs commonly assume — probably with some justification — that the higher centers of the brain do not begin to function until after October 1, 1936. Apparently, however, the nerves can be counted on to respond a little before that date and certainly the two new English shockers, "Night Must Fall" and "Love From a Stranger," are at least better in their own way than any other play of the season has been. Both come in the U.S. after highly successful runs in London.
