In this article, the author focuses on the German film industry. He describes that since 1933, the German film industry has been in a dilemma. From the economic perspectives, it is suggested that film producing companies must export their films, and many countries repudiate the Nazi ideology. In 1931, before the fall of the Weimar Republic, Germany exported films to the value of 59,000,000 marks. In 1937, the carefully cleansed industry exported films to the value of only 7,200,000 marks. National Socialism has been bad business for the motion pictures. According to the author, one of the main reasons for this is the expulsion of the best producers, directors, writers, and actors. One considerable reason for the illness of the German film is found in the political censorship.
