The article focuses on the book entitled "Our American Music: Three Hundred Years of It." This is written by John Tasker Howard. The author remarks that this book is the most nearly complete work on the subject of American music. Although it was Howard's original intention to write only about the music that has been composed in this country, he was inevitably drawn into the current of musical activities. The style varies from a prosaic flatness in factual sections to a genial humor when Howard lets himself go. The author remarks that with entertaining matter of this kind Howard en livens a record that has its very staid and decorous moments.
