This article focuses on various books. In the book "Death and Taxes," by Dorothy Parker, the writer has proved herself master of ironical humor. This is light verse put to the severe test of sewing as a weapon against sentimentality. The book "Up From the Ape," by Earnest A. Hooton, is full of information. Hooton utilizes the data of comparative anatomy, comparative psychology, and even comparative physiology to picture man's evolutionary history and to set the background for his consideration of contemporary human races. The book "Dodd the Potter," by Cedric Beardmore, is the story of the everyday life and loves of the young people is set off against the secondary tale of past events in which their elders were involved and there is some attempt to show the conflicts and differences between the generations.
