The Drifter has the evidence before him in the catalogue of the Wine Trade Loan Exhibition of drinking vessels and books and documents, which was obviously brought together with loving care by British worshipers of wine and was put on view in the ancient Hall of the Vintners' Company in London, England, some months ago. The only art produced by that fierce and intemperate attitude embodied in Ella Boole and the Anti-Saloon League, so far as the Drifter knows, consists of lurid pictures of an alcoholic's stomach in progressive stages of decay. One of the leading exhibits at the Vintners' Hall was a wine glass used by Queen Elizabeth of Great Britain, so exquisite of line and texture that almost by itself it would justify the right of liquor to exist.
