The article presents information on several books. "Wines: Their Selection, Care and Service," is by Julian Street, "Wining and Dining With Rhyme and Reason," is by D.T. Carlisle and Elizabeth Dunn, "Bacchus Behave! The Lost Age of Polite Drinking," is by Alma Whitaker, "American Wines and How to Make Them," is by Philip M. Wagner and "Notes on a Cellar-Book," is by George Saintsbury. A certain melancholy hangs about all these books, save only Saintsbury's. They are monuments to the fact that a generation has grown up in America which knows no wines save dago red and cider-pop champagne, and not much about them.
