The article focuses on the book "Children of the Rising Sun" by the author Willard Price. There is the spice of first-hand experience in this account of Japan and its drive for empire. The style is easy and entertaining. Factual details are skillfully woven into a fascinating story. There is an apparent balance, neutrality, lack of bias Unsparing condemnation of the methods and results of Japan's empire-building occurs on many pages. Yet everyone who supports China's efforts to defend itself against a ruthless invasion has a right to be troubled by "Children of the Rising Sun."
