This article presents information on the book "Three Guineas," by Virginia Woolf. The author of this article describes that Virginia Woolf's three petitioners got their three guineas--one for a women's-college building fund, one for a society promoting the employment of professional women, and one to help prevent war and "protect culture and intellectual liberty." Woolf the world's pattern of vanity, muddle, and violence against women. She focuses on women's participation and rights in context of civil rights, women's colleges, domestic freedom, professional standing, full citizenship, and voting power.
