This article presents information on the economic condition of Brazil. Brazil is experiencing a boom. The amount of building is enormous. Municipal improvements, new roads, new factories, and housing projects are everywhere in evidence. Vigorous government action to solve the social problems of this great sprawling, disorganized land has accompanied the national expansion. Recently the President of the republic, for the first time in history, visited the "Far West" of the nation, to dedicate the new capital of the state of Goyas and at the same time to meet the aboriginal tribes of that section. The new state capital, Goyanna, is a city literally made to order. When it was decided to abandon the old capital instead of trying to modernize it, engineers were sent out to select a site with the proper climate and health conditions.
