Few Americans have ever heard of a prominent fellow playwright named George Simon Kaufmann or know that he is one of U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt's most intimate friends and advisers. In Germany, every child has known of him for a long time. Germans are so well informed about Kaufmann that the mere mention of his name recalls what he stands for. Three years ago, an American named Kaufmann, an obscure business man, wrote a pamphlet called "Germany Must Perish." In it, he described in great detail what should be done to Germans after the second World War. Through a little operation, not a very painful one, they must all be sterilized, made into eunuchs. Only by such action, he said, could the world make sure that Germany would perish and the other nations be left in peace.
