This article provides information on the second World War. The strategic conception underlying descent of the U.S., on North Africa is a broad one, promising large rewards, and it has been implemented on a commensurate scale. Moreover, close cooperation between the British and American commands has made possible an almost miraculous accuracy in the timing of operations. Military expeditions of the kind which have undertaken in North Africa, cannot be improvised. Senator of Nebraska George Norris, weary and bewildered, reflected enemies cannot explain." Senator Norris might as well have been speaking of the eledion as a whole, for the myopia which without thyme or reason had suddenly brought his magnificent political career to an end was not confined to the voters of Nebraska.
