In this article, the author presents information on various motion pictures, including some recently released, and on their economic and societal status. He reports about the Motion Picture Theater Owners of America and the Pacific Coast independent group meeting at the source of production and scheduled which was organized to discuss a number of vital and controversial subjects with the producers. Box-office receipts all over the country have recently been showing a steady and disconcerting decline. It is estimated that the heavy national defense spending is having the contrary effect on box-office takings.
