This article presents information on the book "Louisiana Hayride," by Harnett T. Kane. The author of this article describes that Kane's book explores the political history of Louisiana, specially, the period when the U.S. political leader, Huey Long, has chosen it for his dictatorship. The people had been so constantly abused and so often betrayed that they had precious little faith in what went by the name of democracy in Louisiana. The book also makes it clear that Huey Long was not a fascist. According to Kane, Huey Long was the "pure dictator" without any ideological frills.
