The article presents information on the book "Where Do We Go From Here? A Proclamation of British Democracy By a Labor Party Spokesman," by Harold J. Laski. According to the author, there are no waste words in this splendid little book. Its criticism of society and of rulers of Britain and France is the familiar one of the left, expressed, however, with a balance and urbanity that will make this book a pleasure and an excitement for those who are repelled by adjectival ferocity and special pleading. The war began, Laski convincingly shows, because the capitalist statesmen of Britain and France feared to overthrow fascism.
