The article focuses on the book "Les Ceuvres De Greco En Espagne" by the author Christian Zervos. Many questionable El Grecos are today littering museums and private collections. In fact, Zervos informs readers in the introduction to this splendid book on his great countryman that during the Spanish war he discovered a miniature factory devoted to their production in Madrid. Zervos suggests the formation of tribunals which can adjudicate between the true and the false, and as an immediate step in this direction presents his own volume, into which only demonstrably genuine works are admitted.
