The article presents information about several motion pictures. Some of them are: "Call Northside 777," is a rather dogged but otherwise competent fact-fiction movie; "Crime and Punishment," is a Swedish version, deeply felt, impoverished, intelligent and uninspired; "The Idiot," is a skillful, sensitive, intense reduction, with beautiful work by Gerard Philippe, Edwig Feurillere and Lucien Coedel; "Out of the Past," is a Conventional private-eye melodrama; "Relentless," is a careful, pretty production and the decent work of Robert Young and Marguerite Chapman are better than this Western story deserves.
