The article presents information about a lecture by professor Eduard Kolbanovsky who spoke on love, marriage and the family in socialist society. There was a record turn out at the hall of polytechnic were the lecture took place. An added reason for this great interest in the lecture was that some drastic new marriage and family legislation was being considered by a special government committee. In reply to various questions about these laws-whether a married couple with a child or children would not be allowed to divorce in future, for instance, the lecturer said that he did not know what the new laws would be, but he confirmed the report that the committee had started its work. The Soviet divorce laws were greatly stiffened in 1944, and he indicated that the would be stiffened still more.
