The article discusses some recent issues in the United States. The effort of a number of Congressmen to amend the United Nations Charter so as to outlaw vetoes in the Security Council has been rightly discouraged by the Administration. The evident aim of the movement is to obtain a real world government, of only part of the world, by forcing the Soviet Union and its satellites out of the United Nations. U.S. President Harry S. Truman says that children and dogs are as necessary to the welfare of the United States as Wall Street and the railroads. In this election year when nobody seems to want the candidates who want to be President, one shan't be surprised if the politicians, in their extremity, not only kiss the babies but also try it out on the dog.
