This article presents information on various books. In case of the book "The Color Blind," by Margaret Halsey to level criticism of any kind at a book so well-intentioned, competent, and reasonable might be considered little short of churlish were it not for the fact that a determinedly bright and humorous attitude to a subject essentially unhumorous has much the same antagonizing effect, on this reader at any rate, as an evangelist's intimacies with the Almighty. Either it is passionate fiction about race clashes or else it is passionless non-fiction loaded to the gunwales with statistics.
