This article presents information on the book "The Divine Right of Capital," by philosopher C. E. Ayres. Ayres has written this acute and lively book as a sequel to his more highbrow "The Theory of Economic Progress." It should have a wide appeal as it is clear, its chapters are short, and it deals with the assumptions of orthodox economists with refreshing irreverence. Furthermore, it is completely devoid of charts, diagrams, and statistics. One wishes that more philosophers like Ayres look at economics.
