The Yalta Controversy

The article focuses on the book "Roosevelt and the Russians: The Yalta Conference," written by Edward R. Stettinius and edited by Walter Johnson. Virulent Rooseveltphobes like to contend that a large number of difficulties with Russia spring from the consistent "appeasement" policies of the late President. And in a left-handed way some of the Stalinophiles support the view by claiming that, had the U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt lived, relations between the U.S. and the Soviet Union would be far more harmonious than they are. Both schools of thought find evidence to back their opinions in the proceedings of the Yalta conference.
