The article presents information about various books related to various aspects of life. The book "Thirteen Who Fled," edited by Louis Fischer presents information about thirteen Russian refugees, interviewed in Germany, tell their life-stories and describe conditions that led to their flight. Narrators include a teacher, a farmer, a worker, an army officer, a student and a government official. Another book "A Treasury of Brooklyn," edited by Mary Ellen and Mark Murphy with Ralph Weld presents the history and flavor of Brooklyn in 52 selections from authors as diverse as Henry Miller and Betty Smith, Edmund Wilson and Laura Jean Libbey. The book "Men and Measures in the Law," by Arthur T. Vanderbilt presents a critical and constructive analysis of the increasing complexity of legal problems and procedures with suggestions for reform.
