Korea is seething with unrest. The U.S. army intelligence officers are frankly worried and have warned the American command of possible violent demonstrations in the near future. Numerous factors are contributing to this explosive situation. People are beginning to feel pangs of hunger as the food crisis forces prices skyward on all the necessities of living. Farmers are angry by the high-handed methods being used to collect the rice harvest, methods which have been far from successful. The U.S. command in South Korea, disregarding recommendations of the recently adjourned Korean-American conference has seen fit to maintain in office notorious Japanese collaborators and grafting politicians.
