The article discusses various books. "The Major Foreign Powers," by John C. Ranney and Gwendolen M. Carter is a thousand-page comparative study of Great Britain, France, China and Russia. The authors analyze the political philosophies, government organizations, techniques of administration of each country and compare them with those of the U.S. "Satyagraha: The Power of Truth," by R.R. Diwakar, is a study of the basis or essence of Gandhi's teachings. It discusses how and why the doctrine of satyagraha as conceived and applied by Gandhi helped to free India.
