In this article, the author discusses several political issues. The regression of the analyst Leon Henderson is a severe blow to those who have been insisting that the war should be fought on the home front with the same zeal and courage as on the firing line. Most criticisms of him are an outgrowth of his determination to let no special interest wreck the price-stabilization program. The red army has opened the third phase of its winter offensive by a sweeping advance through Nazi lines paralleling the middle Don.
