This article focuses on the convention of the U.S.-based Progressive Citizens of America (PCA), held in Chicago, Illinois. The PCA denouncing the two old parties as a bi-partisan alliance leading the nation to war and depression, has started down the third-party trail under the banner of U.S. Senator Henry A. Wallace. Six hundred PCA delegates from twenty-eight states, meeting in a two-day convention heard Wallace, who has announced his Presidential candidacy. In his speech Wallace made only slight reference to foreign affairs, seeking apparently to broaden the base of his vote appeal by directing his message primarily to American wage-earners and consumers.
