This article literally criticizes the book "Inside Latin America," by John Gunther. This readable and informative book was compiled quickly and published quickly, just four months after Gunther completed the last lap of his journey. As the author himself states, it is a report of what he saw and heard, and what he saw and heard is of urgent importance to the American people. Without presenting recipes for hemisphere defense, the book indicates the method for the solution of this vital problem and casts light on regions hitherto largely unknown.
