Olivet College, Olivet, Michigan is a revolutionary college, with a new-fangled tutorial system and no distinctions drawn, in either the faculty or the student body, between black and white Christians or Christians and Jews. Under the beret was the head of Professor Barton Akeley of the political-science department. Professor Akeley's colleagues of twelve years at Olivet, his students and his older acquaintances from his days as a Unitarian minister describe him variously, but always as a man of Christian character and intellectual honesty and vigor. He is apparently mildly socialistic and even more mildly pacifist, but no one has ever heard him talk politics either in or out of class.
